Sneaker for Change Exhibition | CARVE AFRICA

Sneakers 4 Change is a collect and donate initiative, that collects and donates sneakers to the less
fortunate. To date, the initiative has collected and donated over 7000 pairs to Orphanage homes, sports clubs and individuals that lack proper footwear.
Sneakers 4 Change celebrates and promotes sneaker culture and create opportunities for young creative using sneakers as a platform. The exhibition was inspired by the number of worn-out sneakers that cannot be repaired and given new life so that they can be donated to the next person. We decided to upcycle these into art pieces.
With our 2nd Exhibition we aim to generate a new audience, since sneaker culture is diverse we looking at hosting different mediums to not only showcase the importance of visual art but also interpret everyday life of a sneaker head.
The S4CKick art exhibition is a group exhibition by 4 ground level artists and 2 mainstream artists. It will act as a platform for upcoming artist, to help them break through the difficult industry of visual arts. The exhibition will celebrate the sneaker culture and raise awareness about the lack of footwear while promoting the spirit of generosity.

The name of the artist who will be involved are Thulani Mbatha, Thato Tsaona Seboko, Nkosinathi Mbatha, Masai Sepuru, Air Mbadada, Butana , Lebohang Motaung and Dario Manjete.

The exhibition will be held at The Project Space in Victoria Yards on the 1st of September 2091 till the
26th of September 2019
