An Ordinary People Exhibits Live Motorsport Fundraising Benefit

Car spinning has been a part of South Africa’s identity for decades, however it has only been legal for ten years now.

The exciting and thrilling motorsport has it’s fir
st documentary feature film ready for premiere at the Slamdance, a Film Festival held in the US state of Utah on the 25th of January 2020. The film directed by Ernest Nkosi is the only African film competing for top awards at the festival.
The film follows spinners as they speak about the South African subculture of spinning cars and the clean visuals show the tricks upclose. The documentary tells the stories of these spinners in their own words and interpretation.
Speaking about the film the director had this to say,”The project is important because it’s the first time this subculture has been documented, and in an age where representation matters, it was a very significant film to make considering the amount of young people who look up to spinners as role models and heroes.”
In efforts to raise funds for a World Tour for An Ordinary People there will be a benefit exhibition you can attend to see a live show from the characters in the film.
Venue: Wheels n Smoke (close to Mall of The South)
